Thinking of studying in the Netherlands at a top-ranked research university? The University of Twente (UT) is offering the University of Twente Scholarship (UTS) for outstanding international students from non-EU/EEA countries who want to pursue a Master’s degree in 2025–26. This scholarship not only supports you financially but also opens doors to prestigious honours programmes and a vibrant campus community driven by innovation and entrepreneurship.
Scholarship Value: Between €3,000 and €22,000 for one academic year.
Two-Year Programmes: Students may receive a second-year scholarship if academic performance is maintained.

Note: The scholarship supports living costs and study-related expenses, but it does not cover tuition fees or non-academic costs.

If you're enrolling in a two-year Master's programme, you can continue to receive the scholarship in the second year if you meet the following:
Maintain an average grade of 7/10 by the end of the third quartile of year one.
Earn at least 50% of European Credits (ECs) by that same period.
To apply for the UTS, you must:
Be a citizen of a non-EU/EEA country.
Have provisional admission to a UT Master’s programme for 2025–26.
Hold a valid student number from UT.
Not be a previous graduate of UT.
Meet visa requirements if applicable.
Fulfill the English language requirements:
IELTS ≥ 6.5 (min 6.0 in speaking)
TOEFL iBT ≥ 90
Be among the top 5–10% of your class academically.
This scholarship is not open to Dutch students, current UT students, or pre-Master’s applicants.
Step 1: Apply for a Master’s Programme
First, submit your application to a Master’s programme at UT and wait for your (conditional/unconditional) admission letter.
Step 2: Apply for the Scholarship
Once you receive the admission offer, use your student number to submit a separate application for the UTS.
Note: UTS is not available for Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC) or pre-Master programmes.
There are two application rounds for the UTS in 2025:
Round 2: Opens 1 February 2025, closes 1 May 2025 at 16:00 CET
You cannot reapply in Round 2 if your application is rejected in Round 1 (Closed – Deadline was 1 February 2025, 16:00 CET).
