The Asia Foundation is now accepting applications for the prestigious 2025 William P. Fuller Fellowship in Peacebuilding—a program designed to empower emerging leaders in the Asia-Pacific region who are passionate about conflict resolution and sustainable peace.
Launched in 2004 by The Asia Foundation’s Board of Trustees, the fellowship was established in honour of Dr. William P. Fuller, following his 15-year presidency at the Foundation. It recognises Dr. Fuller’s deep commitment to nurturing a new generation of Asian peacebuilders and the Foundation’s enduring dedication to addressing subnational conflicts across the region.
Each year, three promising individuals are selected as Fuller Fellows. These early- to mid-career professionals receive extensive leadership training, tailored professional development support, and the opportunity to participate in a hands-on study tour across the United States.
Immersive U.S. Study Tour
From October 13 to 24, 2025, fellows will travel to major peacebuilding and policymaking hubs including San Francisco, New York City, and Washington, D.C. The tour includes site visits, leadership workshops, and dialogue with top experts and institutions in the field.
Professional Development Grant
Fellows receive a flexible grant to support a personally crafted project or professional advancement initiative aligned with their peacebuilding goals.
Virtual Seminar Series
Before and after the U.S. tour, fellows participate in online seminars featuring insights from The Asia Foundation’s Peace and Stability and LeadEx (Leadership and Exchange) programs.
Global Networking
Fellows become part of an international network of peace practitioners, mentors, and changemakers, providing ongoing support and collaboration opportunities.
The Foundation seeks motivated individuals who are:
