Applications are now open for the UNDP Washington Internship 2025 in the United States! The Washington Representation Office (WRO) of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is currently accepting applications for its Fall 2025 intake, scheduled to run from September to December 2025.
This competitive and prestigious internship is a paid opportunity, offering selected candidates a monthly stipend (exact amount yet to be disclosed). Interns will have the chance to gain hands-on experience in one of the world’s leading international development organisations.

UNDP is offering two positions for Fall 2025:
General Internship
Communications & Outreach Internship
General Intern:
Participate in policy-related events and debrief UNDP staff.
Respond to external requests for information or assistance.
Help coordinate and manage events organized by UNDP.
Maintain and update key contact lists (media, think tanks, government).
Contribute to the day-to-day functioning of the WRO office.
Communications & Outreach Intern:
Regularly update the UNDP Washington website.
Assist in developing and implementing communications strategies.
Conduct background research for publications.
Track media and social media coverage; share daily updates.
Support additional outreach and public engagement activities.
Open to candidates of all nationalities.
Must be enrolled in a relevant graduate program (e.g., communications, international development, economics, etc.) or be in the final year of a bachelor’s program.
Recent graduates are also eligible if they can demonstrate an intention to resume studies after the internship.
Available to commit for at least 3 consecutive months.
Strong command of English (both written and spoken).
Must adhere to the core values and principles of the UN and UNDP.
International applicants are responsible for arranging their own visa if needed.
