Blue Peace Middle East Youth Fellowship Programme (YFP) 2025 – Fully Funded Opportunity

Are you a passionate young leader from the Middle East eager to tackle water challenges in your region? The Blue Peace Middle East Youth Fellowship Programme (YFP) offers a unique, fully funded opportunity for early-career professionals to grow as future changemakers in water diplomacy and regional cooperation.


About the Fellowship

The YFP is a dynamic and empowering initiative designed to equip promising youth from the Middle East with the knowledge, skills, and networks necessary to promote sustainable water governance. The program merges academic insight, practical engagement, and cultural exploration, all centred on transboundary water cooperation and the Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystem (WEFE) Nexus approach.

Each year, six outstanding young individuals from the Blue Peace Middle East region are selected to join this fully sponsored programme. Participants will benefit from expert mentorship, collaborative learning, and immersive field experiences in Jordan and Türkiye throughout June, July, and August 2025.


Eligible Countries

Applicants must be citizens of one of the following Blue Peace Middle East countries:

  • Iran

  • Iraq

  • Jordan

  • Lebanon

  • Syria

  • Türkiye


Who Can Apply?

The fellowship is open to:

  • Young professionals, researchers, and graduate students

  • Individuals aged 30 or below

  • Both male and female applicants

  • Fields of interest include International Relations, Political Science, Water Governance, Law, Environmental Studies, Engineering, Economics, or any discipline related to water or the WEFE Nexus

  • Prior experience in water-related initiatives, research, or policy advocacy will be considered an added advantage.

  • Language Requirement: All sessions and interactions are held in English, so candidates must have a strong command of the language and the ability to effectively communicate their ideas.


What Fellows Will Gain

Selected participants will:

  • Deepen their understanding of transboundary water governance and international water laws

  • Learn practical skills in policy negotiation and WEFE Nexus implementation

  • Receive tailored mentorship from top experts in the region

  • Build valuable networks with professionals, institutions, and decision-makers

  • Join the Blue Peace ME Youth Ambassador Network to continue advocacy and regional collaboration

Long-Term Impact

Graduates of the fellowship will be recognised as Blue Peace Middle East Youth Ambassadors, equipped to lead initiatives in their countries and contribute to peacebuilding through shared water solutions.
