Be a Hero of Tomorrow: Apply for the United Nations SDG Action Awards 2025

Are you passionate about driving positive change in your community or beyond? The United Nations SDG Action Awards 2025 are now open for applications, offering changemakers around the world a chance to be recognized on a global platform.

Organized by the UN SDG Action Campaign, this prestigious initiative celebrates impactful individuals and projects that use creativity, innovation, and determination to accelerate progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Every year, thousands of applications pour in from over 190 countries—and this year, it could be your turn.

What Are the UN SDG Action Awards?

The SDG Action Awards honor the "Heroes of Tomorrow"—trailblazers who are building a more inclusive, peaceful, and sustainable future. These global awards spotlight outstanding initiatives across three major categories:

Creativity Award: Recognizing unique and artistic approaches to driving change.
Resilience Award: Honoring efforts that have demonstrated strength and adaptability in the face of challenges.
Changemaker Award: Celebrating those who have sparked powerful movements and influenced others to take action.

Why You Should Apply

Finalists and winners will receive international exposure and a prestigious trophy. They will also be invited to Rome, Italy, to attend the 2025 Heroes of Tomorrow: UN SDG Action Awards Ceremony on 29 October 2025.

But that’s not all—finalists will also participate in a fully funded induction program, which includes:

Travel and accommodation expenses covered by the UN SDG Action Campaign.
A one-day development program with interactive workshops and networking opportunities.
Media promotion and recognition across global platforms.

Who Can Apply?

The awards are open to individuals and organizations from any country. You can either submit your own project or nominate someone else. To qualify:

Your initiative must have a proven impact within the last three years.
It must align with at least one of the award categories.
Projects must be fully implemented—concepts still in development will not be accepted.
Government-led or UN-affiliated initiatives can be recognized with honourable mentions only.
Previous finalists and winners are not eligible to reapply.

What Judges Are Looking For

Applications will be evaluated based on:

Impact: How effectively the initiative contributes to the SDGs.
Innovation: The uniqueness and creativity behind the approach.
Scalability: The potential to expand or replicate the initiative in other communities or regions.
