Who is Eligible?

  • Be born on or after April 2, 1990.

  • Have a minimum of five years of teaching experience at the primary or secondary level as of October 1, 2025.

  • Hold a degree from a recognized university or teacher training institution.

  • Be physically and mentally fit to spend 18 months in Japan.

  • Show a strong interest in the Japanese language, culture, and education system.

  • Be willing to adapt to Japanese life and conduct educational research.

Please note: University faculty members are not eligible to apply for this program.


Scholarship Benefits

The MEXT Teacher Training Scholarship 2025 is fully funded and includes:

  • Round-trip airfare to and from Japan.

  • A monthly stipend of 143,000 yen.

  • An additional regional allowance of 2,000–3,000 yen for those placed in designated areas.

Required Documents
