Be nationals of a country with diplomatic relations with Japan.
Be born on or after April 2, 1990.
Have a minimum of five years of teaching experience at the primary or secondary level as of October 1, 2025.
Hold a degree from a recognized university or teacher training institution.
Be physically and mentally fit to spend 18 months in Japan.
Show a strong interest in the Japanese language, culture, and education system.
Be willing to adapt to Japanese life and conduct educational research.

Please note: University faculty members are not eligible to apply for this program.

The MEXT Teacher Training Scholarship 2025 is fully funded and includes:

A monthly stipend of 143,000 yen.
An additional regional allowance of 2,000–3,000 yen for those placed in designated areas.
