Fall 2025 Research Internship – Apply Now!

PGS is currently inviting applications for its Fall 2025 Research Internship, although applications are reviewed on a rolling basis throughout the year. This opportunity is ideal for individuals interested in supporting policy-driven research while developing hands-on experience in nuclear security and transnational governance.

Research interns will engage with critical issues such as:

  • The global expansion of nuclear energy and its connection to climate change.

  • Nuclear power developments in East Asia and the Middle East.

  • Evolution of international nuclear security frameworks.

  • Cybersecurity risks in the nuclear landscape.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting independent research and policy analysis.

  • Assisting in the preparation of briefs and publications.

  • Monitoring updates from government agencies and international organizations.

  • Supporting staff at meetings and relevant events.

Qualifications:

  • Strong research and writing abilities.

  • Keen interest in nuclear policy and global governance.

  • Graduate students preferred.

  • Minimum commitment of two days per week.

Communications Internship – Shape the Message

For those with a creative edge and interest in policy outreach, the PGS Communications Internship offers the chance to help amplify the organization’s work through innovative digital strategies.

As a communications intern, you will:

  • Contribute to the design and execution of a new communications strategy.

  • Assist in crafting newsletters, blogs, and press releases.

  • Maintain and grow digital platforms, including the PGS website and social media accounts.

  • Collaborate with staff to improve public engagement on nuclear and geopolitical issues.

Ideal candidates:

  • Are detail-oriented and proactive.

  • Have experience in content creation and social media management.

  • Are available for 10–15 hours per week.

  • Graduate students are preferred.


Della Ratta Fellowship – Advance Global Energy & Security

PGS is also accepting applications for the prestigious Della Ratta Global Energy and Security Fellowship, a six-month, $15,000 stipend-supported opportunity running from July to December 2025.

This remote fellowship is designed for early-career professionals passionate about the intersection of nuclear energy, global security, climate policy, and international governance.

Fellows will contribute to projects including:

  • Analysis of nuclear policy trends and commercial developments.

  • Insights into governance systems for emerging nuclear technologies.

  • Research support for bi-weekly newsletters and policy briefings.

  • Assistance in event planning, presentations, and digital communications.

Applicant Profile:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant fields (e.g., international affairs, energy policy).

  • Experience in research, writing, and data analysis tools like Power BI or Excel.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship available).

Scoville Peace Fellowship – Launch Your Career in Peace & Security

The Partnership for Global Security (PGS) is proud to be a sponsoring organization for the Herbert Scoville Jr. Peace Fellowship, a prestigious program that gives recent college graduates a unique entry point into the world of peace and security policy in Washington, DC.

Founded in 1987, the Scoville Fellowship offers participants a six-month, full-time opportunity to work as project assistants with leading nonprofit organizations—like PGS—on pressing global issues. Fellows receive a monthly stipend to support their time in DC as they immerse themselves in policy research, advocacy, and professional development.

Fellows not only engage in meaningful work within their host organizations but also contribute to broader efforts in the peace and security community. Each fellow is paired with a member of the Scoville Board, who serves as a mentor to help ease their transition and guide their growth during the program.

Applicants to the fellowship should demonstrate:

  • Strong academic achievement.

  • A clear passion for peace and security issues.

  • Relevant studies or independent research aligned with the fellowship’s mission.

  • Experience in activism, advocacy, or public-interest work—especially in peace-related areas—is highly valued.

The program selects fellows from a highly competitive international applicant pool twice a year.
