Launched under the Bridging Divides network, the Future Leaders Fellowship is more than just a research initiative—it's a platform for professional and scholarly advancement. This program brings together emerging scholars and leading researchers to tackle complex questions at the crossroads of migration and advanced digital technologies (ADTs).

Immigrant Health and Wellbeing
Employment and Lifelong Learning
Place and Infrastructure
Citizenship and Participation
Throughout the fellowship, participants will work collaboratively on projects that reflect pressing global issues, ultimately producing a peer-reviewed journal article and presenting their work at an international academic conference.
The fellowship begins with a five-day in-person residency at TMU in Toronto. During this immersive experience, selected fellows will:
Meet and collaborate with leading migration scholars
Refine their research proposals
Join an interdisciplinary academic network
After the residency, fellows continue their research remotely while receiving structured one-on-one mentorship and contributing to the larger Bridging Divides community. The program emphasizes both academic excellence and real-world relevance, equipping scholars with the tools and networks to lead in their fields.
Personalized mentorship from top scholars in migration and digital studies
Development of a publishable research article
Participation in a leading international conference
Access to a global, interdisciplinary academic network
Enhanced visibility as an emerging thought leader
The fellowship is open to:
