The Beeck Center for Social Impact + Innovation at Georgetown University is inviting applications for two Innovation and Incubation (I+I) Fellowships. These prestigious 12-month remote positions provide seasoned professionals the opportunity to lead impactful research, develop policy recommendations, and drive change in AI, data efficiency, and public benefits programs. Fellows will collaborate with government agencies, nonprofits, and academic institutions to shape the future of digital transformation in public services.
The Beeck Center is offering two fellowships:
Benefits + Data Efficiency Fellow – This fellowship focuses on privacy-protected data sharing and improving the accuracy and integrity of public benefits programs such as SNAP, WIC, and Medicaid/CHIP.
AI Fellow – This role explores emerging AI trends and their application in enhancing government digital services, public benefits delivery, and ethical technology management.
Both fellows will conduct extensive research, publish findings, and engage with stakeholders to implement best practices in their respective fields.
Conduct research on data sharing and matching in public benefits programs.
Identify challenges and opportunities for secure data exchange.
Collaborate with state and federal agencies, nonprofits, and industry leaders.
Publish findings with actionable policy recommendations.
Represent the Beeck Center at conferences and industry discussions.
Mentor Georgetown University students in related research projects.
Research AI trends in public service and government technology.
Provide strategic guidance on responsible AI implementation.
Analyze governance, ethics, and policy implications of AI in public sector applications.
Engage with government bodies, nonprofits, and civic tech organizations.
Publish reports with best practices and policy recommendations.
Supervise and mentor students on AI-related research initiatives.
Ideal candidates are visionary leaders with expertise in public benefits systems, AI governance, and digital policy transformation.
15+ years of experience in Public Policy, Social Sciences, Public Administration, AI, or Data Science.
At least 5 years of experience in benefits administration research, AI policy, or digital transformation initiatives.
Strong project management and stakeholder coordination skills.
Background in government, nonprofit, or public benefits programs.
Excellent research and communication skills.
Experience mentoring students or staff.
Commitment to driving equitable social change through technology and data.
Fully remote position with occasional in-person meetings in Washington, D.C.
Travel up to 10% for retreats, conferences, and collaborations.
Use of digital collaboration tools like Slack, Asana, and Zoom.
Duration: 12-month full-time contract.
Salary: $130,000–$170,000 annually (based on experience).
