Medical University of Łódź

Overview

The Medical University of Łódź (MUL), established on October 1, 2002, through the merger of the Medical Academy of Łódź and the Military Medical Academy of Łódź, is one of Poland's largest medical universities. Located in Łódź, Poland's third-largest city, MUL offers a comprehensive range of programs in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, and related health sciences. ​

Academic Programs and International Reach

MUL provides both undergraduate and postgraduate programs, with courses taught in Polish and English. Since initiating English-language medical education in 2003/2004, the university has attracted over 900 international students from various countries to its medical and dental programs. The curriculum aligns with the Bologna Process, ensuring compatibility with European education standards. ​

Research and Clinical Facilities

As a prominent medical research center, MUL conducts extensive studies in fields such as molecular biology, oncology, immunology, endocrinology, and hypertension. The university operates four teaching hospitals with a combined capacity of 1,600 beds, providing students with practical clinical training and serving as centers for specialized diagnostic and treatment services. 

International Collaborations and Student Life

MUL maintains collaborations with 22 international universities, facilitating academic exchanges and research partnerships. Students can participate in programs like ERASMUS, enhancing their global exposure.
